A little help from my friends
It's been such a long time since I posted here, which is a shame, as it's a great site. I've even accumulated some $$$$, which can't be bad. Even my blog has been sadly neglected. Not the best of starts to my Internet Marketing career, selling the Natural Migraine Alternatives ebook. So what went wrong? Well it was partly time - of course, and partly that after writing the ebook, I just felt completely used up of things to say! Yes, I could have copied and pasted some of it into the blog, but it seemed rather a cheat to do that when I was expecting people to pay for it. Then I remembered a colleague suggesting I hire a writer from Elance, a website that finds work for freelancers, putting them in touch with people like myself who need occasional help. At first I was very nervous about letting someone else do my writing - but finally desperation got the better of me and I tried the site. It was easy to use, if a little slow, but what was amazing was the large number of quality people available to write for very modest fees. I specified my project and invited bids. Certainly some of those tendering for the work are no-hopers - some sent me SAMPLE work littered with grammar and spelling mistakes. They were politely rejected. I wonder if it would have been kinder to tell them precisely why they weren't successful. Others were superb writers, but beyond my budget. Finally I found two writers who appeared to fit the bill and, unable to choose, gave duplicate assignments to both. One was a raging success and I accepted her work right away. The other rather disappointing, in that I had to send the work back asking for many revisions and clarifications. But the great news is that I now have content for my blog, and to start an articles page on my website. I need to set up the web-page and do some article posting, but I'm looking forward to seeing the results of my work. In conclusion, if anyone is wondering whether to take the plunge and hire a freelancer from Elance, I can recommend that you do. Go to my blog and see if you can tell which is my own work, and which is freelance work that I've paid for. I sincerely hope you can tell the difference!
